Originally from Illinois, Dr. Paulson spent most of his early life in Los Altos, California. In 1973, one week after graduating from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, he was working out of Exam Room #2 at El Cajon Valley Veterinary Hospital!
Originally, the hospital was a walk-in practice seeing both small animal (mostly dogs and cats) and large animals (horses and farm animals). (Dr. Paulson and his lab Audrey)
Over the next 10 years, as veterinary medicine changed, so did El Cajon
Valley Veterinary Hospital. The doctors started to specialize in working either in the hospital on dogs or cats or out in the field on large animals. It didn’t take long for Dr. Paulson to gravitate to the small animal aspect of the practice and find himself where he is today – working out of Exam Room #2, where he enjoys seeing both his small animal patients and their owners.
